Kanagawa International School puts its emphasis on the development of each student's individuality, while instilling a sense of responsibility for self and others and increasing sociability. As a result, students are able to establish their own identity and enhance their self-organization skills. Kanagawa International School's aim is to develop students into persons who have the capability to work in any community of the world by teaching them to respect differences of age, culture, ethnicity, nationality, race and religion. Inside the classroom, students are expected to speak in English; conversations in other languages will not be permitted, as English is the common language worldwide. Kanagawa International School's Readiness Program is a system designed to extend each student's abilities to the point where they are able to continue their education in an international school. Teachers are specially trained to guide the students in English conversations, reading and writing, arithmetic, comprehension skills, and information processing skills. Kanagawa International School tailors their teaching to individual students, and they've thoughtfully selected textbooks and materials.

Hello Everyone!

Today's news is about Hayabeusa. There is a rocket ship named Hayabusa and it went to search a planet called Itokawa. In May 2003, the Rocket was launched and it came back in June, 2010 after a 60 billion kilometer trip! Hayabusa went to find a very small bit of dirt from Itokawa. Hayabusa was able to get 1,500 of them in the capsule. From these dirt, we can find out how the solar system was made and how earth was made. In 2014, Hayabusa number 2 would be launched to go to NEO. It would be much bigger and high technology. Japan will launch it with Europe.

Thank you!

Hello Everyone!

Today’s news is about shichigosan. In Japan’s tradition, every year in November, there is a celebration called shichigosan.

<Shichigosan Celebration at Tsuruoka Hachimangu in Kamakura, Japan>

Shichigosan means seven, five, and three. We celebrate shichigosan when the girl is 3 years old and 7 years old, and when boys are 5 years old, to celebrate the long years that the child lived.

<INTERVIEW: How old are you? (seven) Are you having fun? (yes!)>

The children, parents, and grandparents visit the shrine and then go to the photo studio. There, we take photos of the child wearing a kimono, and nowadays, dresses. The one that is the most exited not the child, but it is the grandparents!

Hello Everyone!

Today's news is about the Trans-Pacific Partnership. In Japan, it is called TPP for short. The goal is to stop taxing each other when importing and exporting. So when they buy from each other, they don't need to give extra money to the government. The people in these countries are very happy because they can buy cheap imported products from the countries and because they can sell cheaply so that there would many buyers. In Japan, the factories can sell many goods to other countries but farmers would be sad because cheap food would come from other countries.

Thank you!

Hello Everyone!

In Tsukubakokusai University, a professor got a chewed gum, and he saw 1 million to 10 million germs inside! Oh no! You should never eat gum from the floor, you will get sick!

Next is about COP10. COP10 was held in Japan, and they held a conference on how to protect animals living on earth. In the conference, 190 countries came together. Many countries had different opinions, so they are struggling to find a solution.
